Since
I was a kid my parents always talked about the importance of getting an
education. They tried their best to keep me in school even though sometimes I
skipped classes. I remember one day when I was in seventh grade my teacher told
me about the importance of getting an education. He said, “Education is the key
to open many opportunities in the future.” From that moment, I promised myself
and my parents that I try my best to be in class and study harder as much as I
could. In my elementary education I did all necessary things in order to pass
and move on to the next level.
I
went on to the Marshall Islands High School. I faced many challenges while I
was in high school. I set aside every thing behind to focus on my studies even
though money and transportation were difficult at times. While I was there, I
made good friends who stood beside me and helped me to stay firm in my studies.
Many choices I had to make either to be with my friends or study. Because of
the help of my parents who stood beside me and my good friends I graduated from
high school.
Now
I’m studying at the College of the Marshall Islands. I’m here to improve my
education in order to open many opportunities in the future. Knowledge has power
to change us. I’m hoping to finish my College here in the Marshall Islands and
then move on to seek further education.
